A description for now. An interactive tool for this method is planned but not built yet.

Background

The Tarot of Marseilles was very popular in France in the 17th and 18th centuries for tarot card games and was probably created in Milan. It was the pack that led to the occult use of tarot cards.

How it works

Reading follows the same draw-and-spread idea as other tarot, but the numbered suit cards show suit symbols rather than illustrated scenes, so readers lean on number and suit.

Notes and limits

Licensing: Historical Marseille patterns are centuries old; individual modern restorations may carry their own copyright.
