Vastu Shastra is the Vedic science of space and direction. Tell us which part of your home each room is in, and see how it compares with the classical Vastu placements — with simple corrections where a room is in a discouraged zone.
Where is each room?
Stand at the centre of your home with a compass and imagine the floor plan divided into a 3 × 3 grid. Choose the zone each room falls in, or “Not applicable” if your home does not have it.
The directions at a glance
Water
North-East (Ishanya)
Ideal for the pooja room, meditation and a water source. Keep it clean, light and clutter-free.
Fire
South-East (Agneya)
Best for the kitchen and electrical appliances. Cook facing east.
Earth
South-West (Nairutya)
The heaviest, most stable zone — ideal for the master bedroom and heavy storage.
Air
North-West (Vayavya)
Good for guest rooms, the garage and stores. Supports movement and relationships.
Space
Centre (Brahmasthan)
The energy core — keep it open and uncluttered. Avoid heavy furniture or toilets here.
Wealth
North (Kubera)
Direction of wealth and career. Keep it open, add greenery, place the cash locker facing north.
