How this is read
- The lagna and its lord stand for you; the Moon for your mind; the house of the topic and its lord for the matter (Prashna Marga practice).
- Strength: exalted, own or friendly sign helps; debilitation or enemy sign weakens (BPHS dignities). Kendra, trikona and the 11th house help; the 6th, 8th and 12th weaken. Closeness to the Sun (combustion) weakens.
- Ithasala (Tajaka): a faster planet behind a slower one in an aspecting sign, within half their combined orbs, is applying — traditionally the matter moves forward; separating (eesarapha) suggests it has passed its peak. Simplified: degrees within the sign only.
- Benefics (Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, waxing Moon) in the kendras support; malefics (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu, waning Moon) strain them — except in the 10th, an upachaya house. Rahu and Ketu, always opposite, count once. In the house of the question, malefics are welcome in upachaya houses (3, 6, 10, 11).
- Head-rising (Shirshodaya) lagna signs favour success; back-rising (Prishtodaya) signs suggest delay. Movable, fixed and dual lagnas are read for timing only.
Prashna is a traditional horary method. These are traditional pointers to reflect on, not predictions or guarantees, and not medical, legal or financial advice. Astrologers read many more factors than shown here.
