PlannedLearn onlyLiving tradition

A description for now. An interactive tool for this method is planned but not built yet.

Background

Tasseography interprets patterns in tea leaves, coffee grounds or wine sediment. The name comes from the French tasse, "cup"; the practice is associated with Romani fortune-tellers, among others.

How it works

After drinking, the shapes left by the leaves or grounds inside the cup are read as symbols.

Notes and limits

Culture: Tasseography is not considered a closed practice, but it is closely associated with Romani people; Wikipedia notes it is often traditional to ask permission of a Romani elder as a sign of respect.
