Dream Journal

Writing down dreams each morning to improve recall and notice recurring themes over time.

PlannedRule-basedModern practice

A description for now. An interactive tool for this method is planned but not built yet.

Background

A dream diary records dream experiences and is used in the study of dreams and psychology. Keeping one is regarded as a useful way to improve dream recall.

How it works

Write the dream as soon as you wake — people, places, feelings — then review entries for patterns. Entries could later be linked with the dream dictionary.

Notes and limits

Safety: A journal is a reflection tool, not therapy. Seek professional help for distressing or recurring nightmares.
