Saturn Transit

साढ़े साती

What is Saturn Transit?

Saturn Transit is the 7.5-year transit of Saturn (Shani) through the 12th, 1st, and 2nd houses from your Moon sign. Saturn spends roughly 2.5 years in each sign. It is one of the most significant transit periods in Vedic astrology, occurring 2–3 times in a lifetime.

How is it Formed?

Saturn takes ~29.5 years to circle the zodiac. Saturn Transit begins when Saturn enters the sign before your Moon sign (12th from Moon) and ends when it exits the sign after your Moon (2nd from Moon).

Three Phases

Rising Phase (12th from Moon): Financial pressures, health vigilance, and a sense of impending transformation.

Peak Phase (over Moon sign): The most intense phase — major life shifts, emotional depth, and profound inner change.

Setting Phase (2nd from Moon): Pressures begin easing. Lessons crystallize and efforts start bearing tangible fruit.

Effects on Life

  • Career pressure and professional restructuring
  • Financial strain and unplanned expenses
  • Health concerns, particularly stress-related
  • Relationship friction with family and spouse
  • Emotional intensity, anxiety, and introspection
  • Ultimately brings maturity, discipline, and lasting resilience

Severity Levels

Impact varies by Saturn’s relationship with the Moon sign. Friendly signs (Taurus, Gemini, Virgo, Libra, Capricorn, Aquarius) produce milder effects. Inimical signs (Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio) can intensify challenges.
